Campus & Community Engagement
Madisonville Community College offers student activities and student organizations to increase community service, build campus engagement, and provide a forum for students to develop leadership and other critical workforce skills. These groups focus on building connections with the college, the community, and peers in a friendly and open environment. Several of these efforts seek to build mentoring relationships with students and to offer extended learning opportunities.
Guided Learning and Academic Development Program
The Guided Learning and Academic Development (GLAD) program is designed to assist public school students to excel academically in middle school and as freshman in high school. The program seeks to enhance the growth, both academically and personally, of its student participants, by nurturing them in the STEM-H (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Health Sciences). Adequately preparing students in these areas, through reasonable intervention, the program will aide in the transition to high school with postsecondary education as the ultimate goal.
Grow (Gentlemen Representing Outstanding Work)
GROW strives to embody, empower, support, and assist men in creating a strong foundation of success upon which to build professional and personal growth, and community involvement.

Male Mentoring Program
The Male Mentoring Program is a partnership between MCC and the GLAD (Guided Learning and Academic Development) program completers. The goal of the initiative is to expose high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors, and current MCC students to various professionals, mentors, and career opportunities that may be of interest to them. In doing so, students are made aware of the tangible rewards for making a commitment to continue their education. The program consists of five Saturday sessions and will conclude with a celebration event. For information about the program and how to get involved, contact James Bowles at james.bowles@kctcs.edu.
Multicultural Student Association
The Multicultural Student Association provides new and returning students with academic support and advising, cultural enrichment activities, and opportunities for social interaction with on-campus peers. Students can participate in monthly meetings, plan community service, and help create an inclusive campus environment. Contact: James Bowles, (270) 824-8588, james.bowles@kctcs.edu
