Workplace Safety

  • Safety Training (OSHA Outreach Training)
  • Regulatory Training (NFPA 70e Electrical Safety in the Workplace)

Madisonville Community College offers the 10hr Training for Entry Level Workers Outreach Program and the 30hr Training Supervisors and Safety Personnel Outreach Program to promote workplace safety and health. These are voluntary programs to make your workers more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights. Outreach training does not fulfill the training requirements found in specific OSHA Standards. But OSHA recommends the Outreach Programs as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers. Knowledgeable and aware workers will prevent accidents and save lives. Your overall cost of doing business will go down as the number of lost time accidents are reduced. The 30hr Program for Supervisors and those with safety responsibilities will increase these employees recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of workplace hazards.

There are over 7,000 electrical contact injuries annually in the U.S. On average, one person dies from electrocution every day in the United States. MCC offers training for the Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70e). This standard describes safe work practices for electrical maintenance and construction workers. It describes how to protect workers when they are repairing or building electrical systems in plants, buildings, and on construction sites. This is invaluable training for businesses, industries, and enterprises that have large electrical panels or maintain their own internal electrical systems.
