Madisonville Community College Named Among Top 200 for Aspen Prize
Published on Nov 3, 2025
The Aspen Institute has named Madisonville Community College (MCC) as one of 200 institutions eligible to compete for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation’s premier recognition of high achievement and performance among two-year colleges.
Colleges were selected based on student outcomes data, including retention, completion, transfer, and bachelor’s attainment rates. This marks the ninth cycle of the Aspen Prize since its launch in 2010.
“MCC is honored to be named among the top 200 institutions eligible for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence,” said Cindy Kelley, President of Madisonville Community College. “This recognition reflects the extraordinary work of our faculty, staff, and students, whose dedication to excellence and student success continues to elevate our college.”
The Aspen Prize highlights community colleges that deliver strong and improving outcomes for students—demonstrating what’s possible in higher education. The 200 eligible institutions now enter a rigorous review process, with the Aspen Prize winner to be announced in spring 2027.
