Enrollment Checklist

Whether you’re a high school student, a returning student or just looking to take a class on the side, following these steps will make your admissions experience easy!

Enrollment Steps

Submit the Application for Admission. It’s free, and it only takes about 15 minutes to complete. 

To get started you'll need:

  • Your Social Security number.

  • An email address that we can use to contact you.

  • Name and address of the high school you have attended.

  • Name and address of any colleges you have attended.

MCC encourages every student apply for financial aid.  The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is required for grant, loan, and scholarship consideration. Learn more about how to pay for college.  

MCC requires that students submit their final high school transcript or GED scores, as well as transcripts from all previous colleges attended. These documents may or may not be required prior to your class registration.

Students should contact their former high school (or Board of Education) and have them send your final high school transcript, with graduation date and final GPA. You can order your high school transcript at parchment.com or your GED transcripts at request.ged.ky.gov.

You will also need to contact any other colleges attended to request your official transcripts be sent to MCC. You'll also need to request a transcript evaluation so your credit may be applied to your account 

All transcripts should be sent to MCC Records, 2000 College Drive, Madisonville, KY  42431. Electronic transcripts are also accepted.

MCC accepts a variety of placement test (including ACT, TABE-A, KYOTE and/or Compass) scores.  For more information about placement, contact the MCC Enrollment Center.  

All students must meet with an advisor before registering for classes.  An academic advisor can help you set your educational and career path, from choosing your major and registering for classes, to graduating and evaluating transfer options. In-person and virtual advising appointments are available on the North & Muhlenberg County Campuses.

Madisonville Community College requires all first year, degree seeking students (regardless of previous dual credit hours earned) to attend a New Student Orientation session.   Students attend NSO after registering for classes; the advisor who helps you sign up for your first semester classes can help you sign up for your session.  A variety of dates & times are available each semester.  

If using financial aid to pay for your classes, be sure to contact the MCC Financial Aid office to check your account, or visit your KCTCS student self-service. Visit the FA office (3rd Floor, John H. Gray Building, North Campus) or call 270/824-8598 for more information.  

Tuition may be paid in person at the Business Office (1st Floor, John H. Gray Building, North Campus), online through KCTCS student self-service, or by calling the MCC Business Office.

MCC also offers convenient payment plans; contact the MCC Business Office (270/824-8584) for more information.

Visit the MCC Bookstore online or in-person (1st Floor, Beshear Education Center, North Campus) for all your college needs, including required and recommended textbooks and materials needed for your classes.
