Advanced Integrated Technology Scholarships *
Advanced Integrated Technology Scholarships are available to students pursuing degrees in any of the following program fields: Multi-Skilled Industrial Technician, Power Plant Technician Option, Engineering Controls, Mechatronics Operator, and Industrial Refrigeration. Awards are based on the student’s program of study and financial need. These funds are awarded by faculty recommendation only. Allied Health Scholarships*
Allied Health Scholarships are available to students who have been accepted into the Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, Clinical Laboratory Technician, Radiography and Surgical Technology Programs. Recipients must maintain at least half-time enrollment and a 2.5 GPA. Awards are based on faculty recommendations and vary annually.
Caldwell County Excellence Scholarship
The Caldwell County Excellence Scholarship is for residents of Caldwell County who have demonstrated strong academic performance through earning at least a 2.5 GPA in high school or college and scoring at least an 18 on the ACT. Students must be degree seeking and enrolled full-time. Recipients may apply for a second year if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Award amounts vary annually.
Commonwealth Scholarship
The Commonwealth Scholarship is awarded to students who graduate from high school in the top 25% of their class for the current or previous academic year. Recipients must be Kentucky residents, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and be enrolled at least half-time. Recipients may apply for a second year of funds if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Award amounts vary annually.
Crittenden County Excellence Scholarship
The Crittenden County Excellence Scholarship is for residents of Crittenden County who have demonstrated strong academic performance through earning at least a 2.5 GPA in high school or college and scoring at least an 18 on the ACT. Students must be degree seeking and enrolled full-time. Recipients may apply for a second year if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Award amounts vary annually.
Garth Gamblin Scholarship
The Garth Gamblin Scholarship was established by The Messenger, Garth Gamblin and other donors for persons with disabilities attending Madisonville Community College. The scholarship is open to students with a disability who have completed at least one semester at MCC. Applications are due by the end of the first week of classes of the semester applying. The amount of the award ($500 maximum) will be determined on a case by case basis and is not limited to tuition and books. The scholarship can be awarded to the same student for two semesters. A new application is required for the second semester. Semesters need not be consecutive. The committee reviews the following: the applicants GPA, financial need, and placement scores. Applications are available in the Disability Resource Office or on the website. Glema Mahr Memorial Scholarship*
This scholarship was given in memory of Glema Mahr a local advocate of the Arts. It is awarded to students pursuing degrees in the Arts and who plan to transfer to a four-year institution. Students must enroll full-time, maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and work as interns at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts. Iris Givens Scholarship
The Iris Givens Scholarship is in memory of Iris Givens, a Muhlenberg County resident who was a nurse and highly valued postsecondary education. The recipients of this award must be residents of Muhlenberg County who are pursuing degrees in Allied Health or Nursing. Students must earn at least a 2.5 GPA and maintain a full-time enrollment status. If they continue to meet the eligibility requirements, recipients may apply for a second year. Award amounts vary annually.
Lineberry Scholarship
The Lineberry Scholarship is designed to assist single parents with education expenses related to the pursuit of a degree. Students must have unmet need, maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled full-time. Recipients may apply for a second year if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Award amounts vary annually.
Nursing Scholarships*
Nursing Scholarships are reserved by students who have been accepted into the nursing program at Madisonville Community College and who are currently in their second, third or fourth semesters. Recipients must enroll in at least six credit hours and earn at least a 2.5 GPA. Awards are based on faculty recommendation and vary annually.
Owen Badgett Scholarship
This scholarship, formally known as the New Hope Scholarship, is funded through the Community Foundation of Louisville in honor of Mr. Owen Badgett. Recipients must enroll full-time, maintain at least a 2.5 GPA should be represented in greater proportion of children/students of female single-headed households with preference given to minority women. Recipients may apply for a second year, if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements. Award amounts vary annually.
Partners in Progress
The Partners in Progress Scholarship is a general scholarships fund for degree-seeking students who have maintained at least a 2.5 GPA. Students may apply for a second year if they have met the scholarships criteria. Award amounts vary annually.
Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to Valedictorians of their high school graduating class for the current or previous academic year. Recipients must be Kentucky residents, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and maintain full-time enrollment status. Recipients may apply for a second year of funds if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Awards vary annually and may be awarded up to the cost of full tuition.
School Counts! Scholarship*
School Counts! Scholarships are awarded to students from Hopkins County and Muhlenberg County who have completed the School Counts! program while in high school. Recipients must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, file their Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) annually, and notify the MCC Financial Aid Office of any external scholarship awards. Students are awarded unmet tuition need up to twelve credit hours after all other awards have been calculated. No application is needed as the list of eligible students is sent from each high school after graduation. Students have four semesters of eligibility, but must use it within five semesters of their high school graduation. Webster County Excellence Scholarship
The Webster County Excellence Scholarship is for residents of Webster County who have demonstrated strong academic performance through earning at least a 2.5 GPA in high school or college and scoring at least an 18 on the ACT. Students must be degree seeking and enrolled full-time. Recipients may apply for a second year if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Award amounts vary annually.
