The first ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. and will honor Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Nursing program graduates. The second ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. and will honor Associate in Applied Science and diploma graduates.

MCC Professor of Mathematics Dr. Roger Warren will be the commencement speaker for both ceremonies. Dr. Warren will be retiring at the end of the current academic year and will be the first MCC faculty member to serve as commencement speaker. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Murray State University, a Master of Science in Mathematics degree from the University of Kentucky, and a PhD in Mathematics degree from the University of Kentucky. Prior to his 36 year teaching career at MCC, Dr. Warren taught 6 years at the University of Pikeville and 2 years at Asbury University.

Graduation is always an exciting time for students and the college. We have another outstanding graduating class. Many of our graduates have secured high wage jobs already or have made plans to transfer to a four-year college or university, shared Dr. Jay Parrent, Interim Chief Academic Officer. It is anticipated that 136 graduates will participate in the May 6th ceremonies.

The community is invited to attend the graduation ceremonies and celebrate the accomplishments of our students.
