MCC TRiO Talent Search Middle School Participants Visit Lexington
Madisonville Community College (MCC) TRIO Talent Search middle school participants traveled to Lexington, Kentucky, on June 1 and June 6 to visit the University of Kentucky and the Kentucky State Horse Park. TRiO Talent Search is a federally funded program based at Madisonville Community College. Talent Search Advisors Wes Ausenbaugh, Christian Cates, Jesse Frailey and Marcia Evans, Staff Support Enrichment Advisor, along with Talent Search director Anna Leasure accompanied the students.
The University of Kentucky visit included an informative session with Cassandra Johnson from the university’s TRiO Student Support Services program and a tour of several main campus facilities such as dorms, the new Jacobs’ Science Building, and the W. T. Young Library.
The visit to the Kentucky Horse Park featured the Parade of Breeds Show at Breeds Barn, a walking barn tour and a guided tour of the International Museum of the Horse. All the students enjoyed their opportunities to learn about the equestrian industry.
