MCC MUHLENBERG COUNTY CAMPUS ACCEPTING REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER COURSES

MCC is pleased to announce that the course schedule for the summer 2013 semester has been established and registration is currently underway. Mathematics and nursing assistant skills courses will be offered at the MCC Muhlenberg County Campus. Nursing Assistant Skills I (NAA100) is scheduled for June 11-July 22. For persons considering the nursing career track, NAA100 is a required pre-requisite for MCC nursing program admission. Also, successful completion of the course and passing the state examination may result in certification to work as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) in long-term care or other health care facilities.

The Muhlenberg County Campus schedule also features several math courses. For those needing to improve their math skills, Intermediate Algebra (MAT185), will be offered during the second session starting June 11. College Algebra (MAT 150) is offered during Intersession starting May 14 and ending June 10.

MCC s summer schedule features expanded online course offerings ranging from accounting to sociology and including general education classes like biology, communications, and English. Students taking our local online classes get the best of both worlds, according to Deborah Cox, MCC s Chief Academic Officer. Students get the convenience of online learning with faculty available to meet with them locally if they have questions .

MCC s website (https://madisonville.kctcs.edu/schedule) contains the class schedule information as well as detailed information regarding registration and admission requirements, the MCC academic calendar, tuition, books, and more. In addition, persons may filter the class schedule to view only the classes they are interested in taking and print the information if desired.

Summer classes begin May 14th (intersession) and June 10th (summer session); fall classes begin August 19th. MCC, part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, offers the lowest tuition rates in the state. Persons interested in further information about MCC classes may contact Penny Jessup, Student Affairs Specialist at the Muhlenberg County Campus at (270) 757-9881 or visit her Monday through Friday before 4 p.m.
