MCC CLASSROOM NAMED IN HONOR OF DAVID H. AND MARY FRANCES PRITCHETT

Madisonville Community College recently acknowledged the establishment of an endowed scholarship fund in memory of David H. and Mary Frances Pritchett with the naming of classroom 019 in the Joe C. Davis Science and Technology Building located on the college s North Campus. The Pritchett Family Scholarship Endowment will provide one or more scholarships to MCC students who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence in science and mathematics, with priority given to students intending to transfer to a 4-year university to major in an engineering-related field. The funds shall be managed in accordance with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System s policy for investment and management of endowed funds.

On behalf of the Pritchett family, Herb Pritchett expressed gratitude for being able to honor his parents in such a way and paraphrased the quote, The riches of a person are not measured by what they accumulate but by what give away. He recalled the teamwork of his mother and father. They were inseparable, supportive of each other, and their efforts were joint. My father loved the University of Kentucky and he loved Madisonville Community College. My father believed in a well-rounded education and mother did too.
