Madisonville Noon Kiwanis Club Accepts MCC Lavender Fund II Scholarship Gift Challenge

The Madisonville Noon Kiwanis Club accepted the Lavender Fund II Scholarship Gift Challenge. The donation was announced during their September 9th luncheon meeting. An anonymous donor recently offered up the challenge to community members, area civic clubs, and businesses for donations to support the Lavender Fund II Scholarship at Madisonville Community College (MCC). The benefactor has agreed to provide a dollar-for-dollar match up to $5,000 to provide scholarships for MCC students.

The Lavender Fund II Scholarship is a unique scholarship and support program for single parents attending MCC. Realizing that success in college while managing a household can be a tremendous challenge, this scholarship is intended to remove barriers by providing additional resources single parents may need. In addition to financial assistance, Lavender Fund Scholars have access to a support advisor who provides life skills workshops, academic and career guidance, and personal assistance.
