JUDITH K. MOORE MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Madisonville Community College (MCC) students Sarah Huddleston and Kaylann Simmons have each been awarded a $550 scholarship from the Judith K. Moore Memorial Endowment. The Endowment was founded in memory of Judy Moore, a long-time MCC employee and advocate for the School Counts! program. To be eligible, recipients must have completed the School Counts! program, be enrolled full-time at MCC, maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and pursue either an Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration or an Associate of Arts degree.

Huddleston, of Dawson Springs, and Simmons, of Hanson, both successfully met the School Counts! program criteria during their high school years and the Endowment scholarship guidelines. Huddleston currently has a 3.684 grade point average and is pursuing an Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration. Simmons is maintaining a 3.059 GPA and is also working towards an Associate in Applied Sciences degree in Business Administration.

School Counts! is a work ethic/scholarship program for all students enrolled at public high schools in Hopkins and Muhlenberg counties. Students are automatically enrolled at the beginning of the freshman year and must successfully meet the following criteria each school year to remain in the program and earn a Work Ethic Certificate: Maintain a minimum 95% attendance; Maintain a minimum 2.50 grade point average each academic year; Take more than the minimum number of credits required for graduation; Complete high school in four years.
