Graham Elected to State PBL Office

Matt Graham was recently elected to the position of state treasurer for Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), a collegiate extension of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). In this role, he is responsible for creating a monthly budget, assisting local chapters, and helping with the planning and organizing of the state conference. Graham stated that he was honored to be elected and will do his best to fulfill the duties to better the organization, himself, and the community. He shared, I believe I will positively benefit from this position and cannot wait to see what the future holds. I want to personally thank everyone who helped me obtain this position. I know it could not have been possible without prayer, your motivation, time, and assistance.

As an MCC student pursuing an Associate in Science degree with a business transfer certificate, his interest in business and finances made him a perfect candidate for the state treasurer position. Requirements for the position included experience related to the office, being able to attend monthly meetings, and a plan to advance PBL across the state. The election process involved submission of an application, a letter of recommendation from a local advisor, and an outline of goals that would advance the organization. Graham served as secretary for the local PBL chapter and was responsible for the preparation of meeting agendas and notes. During this time he also served as the chair of the community service committee overseeing the local chapter s community service projects.

Graham is a 2011 graduate of Muhlenberg County High School where he was active in the music program, playing saxophone in the Marching, Jazz, Pep, and Symphonic bands. He also enjoys being outdoors and fishing. His future plans include transferring to either Kentucky Wesleyan College or Brescia University for completion of a bachelor s degree.
