CTE STUDENTS OF THE MONTH ANNOUNCED

Madisonville Community College (MCC) celebrated February as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month with the selection of nine students as CTE Students of the Month.

Students recognized were:

Kenneth Anthony Thomasson of Madisonville was selected for the Computer and Information Technologies program. Anthony is a hard working student who seeks to understand the topics covered and how to apply them to real-world situations.

Cassie Lee Huckleberry of Island was selected for the Respiratory Care program. She is a dedicated and conscientious student who serves as a leader among her peers.

Zachary Morris of Greenville was selected for the Criminal Justice program. Zach is a very strong student in the academics of the classroom. He is always willing to lend a helping hand to other student and excels in the quality of work submitted. Zach was recently hired as a dispatch in Muhlenberg County and hopes to pursue a career in Law Enforcement.

Samantha Gillum of Madisonville was selected for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Samantha is a high achiever and an excellent role model for professionalism in the classroom. She supports other students in a positive manner and stands out as a leader in group projects.

Barbara G. Brooks of Madisonville and Emily Tomlinson of Nortonville represent the Business Administration program. Both are outstanding and dedicated students.

Tracey (Tray) Flener of South Carrollton is an excellent student and representative of the Radiography program.

Christa Crick of Dawson Springs was selected for the Energy Management program. She will be one of the first students to graduate with an AAS in Energy Management this semester. Christa currently holds a 3.7 GPA and did her final project in the Commercial Energy Audit course at the local fire department where she provided them with a free energy analysis report to help them save on energy costs. Christa was also part of the first group in the state to receive her Center for Energy Workforce Development Energy Industry Fundamentals certificate and the very rigorous LEED Green Associate certification.

Nicole Lee Duncan of Sebree was selected for the Medical Information Technology program. Nicole is a great student who works well with her peers and completes everything asked of her. She goes above and beyond what is expected in the classroom. She is currently completing her practicum at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville and receiving positive feedback.

Kyle Patrick Salsberry of Clarksville, Tennessee, was selected for the Surgical Technology program. Kyle is in the U. S. Army Reserves and does and outstanding job in both clinical and classroom settings.
