BETSY ALLEN SELECTED FOR 2016 MCCALL LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Madisonville Community College (MCC) is proud to announce the selection of Betsy Allen as a participant in the 2016 McCall Leadership Academy (MLA). Allen now joins the ranks of an elite team of leaders who represent the best of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).

Allen is an Associate Professor of English at the Muhlenberg County Campus of Madisonville Community College. She is a native of East Tennessee, and earned her Bachelor in Arts (English) at Tennessee Technological University, and her Master in Arts (English) at East Tennessee State University. She is involved with developing student life at the Muhlenberg Campus, as well as enhancing the college s development through the Quality Enhancement Plan and Personal Effectiveness Skills Workgroup. I

In her local community, Allen is active in the Muhlenberg County Public Library Friends group and coordinates a used book sale to raise money each year. She is also a part of the county s Relay for Life leadership committee and serves as co-captain of the Muhlenberg Campus Relay for Life team. Along with her colleagues, she enjoys blending local service and student life at the college to promote community growth. Allen is honored at being selected for the McCall Leadership Academy and hopes to enhance her role in the college and KCTCS as a whole.

The primary goals of the leadership academy are to promote and strengthen leadership in and among KCTCS faculty and staff and to advance the colleges and the System s strategic agenda. Participants will attend several classes/seminars as well as participate on system-wide teams/committee projects (when available).
