BETSY ALLEN SELECTED AS EXTENDED CAMPUS COORDINATOR FOR MCC MUHLENBERG CAMPUS

When students and visitors return to the Muhlenberg Campus of Madisonville Community College (MCC) for spring semester classes, they will see a new but familiar face serving as the Extended Campus Coordinator. Betsy Allen, an Associate Professor of English, has been selected to fill the coordinator position. George Humphreys served in this role until his retirement in September 2015.

Allen holds a Bachelor in Arts in English from Tennessee Technological University and a Master in Arts in English from East Tennessee State University. She has worked at the MCC Muhlenberg campus as a professor of English for six years, and has been involved in the community through the Muhlenberg County Public Library Friends group and Relay for Life. Along with her colleagues, Betsy enjoys blending local service and student life at the college. Allen stated that she is honored to serve as the interim extended campus coordinator, and plans to promote growth and success for both the college and the community.

MCC Chief Academic Officer Dr. Deborah Cox noted that, within the campus coordinator role, Allen will work with the area school systems and support the work of the MCC Enrollment Center in recruitment of students and development of academic pathways into college. She will also work closely with dual credit in the Muhlenberg County Schools.

Cox shared, Betsy brings to this role a good understanding of the college as a whole, the importance of student development work, and an excellent reputation as a professor. I look forward to her leadership in Muhlenberg County.

The MCC Muhlenberg Campus is located at 406 West Everly Brothers Blvd. in Central City. Allen can be contacted by phoning (270) 824-1727 or emailing betsy.allen@kctcs.edu.
