Scholarship Information

Madisonville Community College has many scholarship opportunities; most are restricted to course of study, enrollment in a degree or transfer program, or other guidelines. Scholarship Opportunities

Students who have demonstrated academic achievement and show need for financial assistance. The student must be a graduate of a high school in the MCC service area. First preference shall be given to those students otherwise meeting the above qualifications, who plan to pursue music or special education.

Nursing program first-year students/scholarship support

Residents of Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Crittenden, McLean, and Webster Counties/minority students of good character, demonstrated academic achievement, and show need for financial assistance. Preference shall be given to students who having met the criteria, plan to pursue two year associate degrees from MCC or four year baccalaureate degrees.

Students with disabilities; tuition, books and classroom supplies, transportation costs, computers, tutoring services, assistive technology software; recommendations made by the Gamblin Endowment Committee.

Tuition/books for students who are prior graduates of Crittenden County High School and/or Crittenden County residents.

Tuition support for Allied Health program students

Students pursuing an associate degree in engineering technology who have either demonstrated previous academic excellence or potential for achieving academic excellence.

Scholarship support of academically-talented Muhlenberg County residents

Tuition, books for students who are prior graduates of Crittenden County High School

Applied Technology degree program students

Associate degree seeking 3rd or 4th semester nursing students who have either demonstrated previous academic excellence or the potential for achieving academic excellence, may be awarded according to financial need, and limited to those nursing students attending classes on the Madisonville campus.

Tuition support for academically-talented minority students; recommendations made by the Cultural Diversity Committee.

Residents of Crittenden County, Kentucky and/or graduates of Crittenden County High School who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence.

Residents of Hopkins County who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence and are enrolled in one of the following: engineering technology, electronics, or elective curriculum completed for transfer to a four-year college or university. Priority will be given to students who have the intention of transferring to a four-year institution to study an engineering-related field.

Tuition and text costs for Hopkins County high schools completers of School Counts program criteria: obtain a 2.5 GPA yearly, achieve a 95% attendance and punctuality record, complete high school in eight consecutive semesters, take more than the minimum number of credits required for graduation.

Muhlenberg County residents who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence and are enrolled in one of the following: biological sciences, pre-pharmacy, or pre-medicine with the intention of transferring to a four-year institution.

Hopkins County resident and education major who has demonstrated academic excellence or has the potential for achieving academic excellence.

School Counts criteria applies. Must be Muhlenberg County residents: graduates of Muhlenberg County High Schools and non-traditional adult students who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence.

Tuition and/or book costs of MCC students majoring in allied health and/or arts & humanities areas (one recipient from each area annually)

Hopkins County residents in AAS and AS degree areas who have demonstrated previous academic excellence

Graduates of Hopkins County high schools in Associate of Arts degree program who plan to transfer to a four-year university.

Students obtaining an Associate of Applied Science Degree in the AIT program who are residents of Hopkins, Crittenden, or Webster County, Kentucky.

Students majoring in arts, humanities, social sciences or arts education and plan to transfer to a 4-year college with an Associate of Arts degree

Students who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence and who are enrolled in the college's AIT program; specifically in either the Air Conditioning Technology or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician option. Students will be residents of Hopkins County.

Students enrolled in the Integrated Associate Degree Nursing Program in their second year of study. Students will be residents of Hopkins County, Kentucky. Priority will be given to graduates of West Hopkins Accelerated School.

Tuition or book support from at-risk populations who have substantial economic barriers to a college degree. Will plan to transfer to a four-year college.

School Counts for Hopkins County completer, a Hopkins County resident, and a Business Administration major or Accounting major pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree and intends to transfer to a four-year university after completing the AAS degree.

Scholarship awards to academically-strong students; based on recommendations from the Diversity Programming & Allocation Committee.

Tuition/book support for students enrolled in career fields defined as high need occupational areas and transfer of students to four-year institutions who intend to earn a baccalaureate degree. The students will be graduates of Caldwell County High School and/or Caldwell County residents enrolled in at least 7 credit hours each semester.

Tuition/book support for students enrolled in career fields defined as high need occupational areas and transfer of students to four-year institutions who intend to earn a baccalaureate degree. The students will be graduates of Webster County High School and/or Webster County residents.

Students majoring in math/sciences who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence and who intend to transfer to a four-year university after completing the AS or AAS degree.

School Counts criteria for Webster County High School graduates

Adult students who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence and are in need of financial assistance.

Tuition costs for Webster County High School completers of School Counts program criteria: obtain a 2.5 GPA yearly, achieve a 95% attendance and punctuality record, complete high school in eight consecutive semesters, take more than the minimum number of credits required for graduation.

Designated for traditional and non-traditional students that have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence, plan to transfer to Murray State University, and an intent to obtain an Associate Degree at Madisonville Community College before transferring.

Designated for traditional and non-traditional students, and full time faculty scheduled to embark on a student international study trip that involves credit classes and/or other events for international travel trips. Faculty will accompany students on the international travel trips. Students selected should have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence, have plans to transfer for a four year degree, and an intent to obtain an Associate Degree at MCC before transfer.

Designated for students who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence in science and mathematics, with priority given to students whom intend to transfer to a 4-year university to major in an engineering-related field.

Tuition or book expense for Muhlenberg County residents; preference will be given to students enrolled in information & engineering technology curriculum, or in math-related courses.

The scholarship is designated for female single-headed households with preference given to minority women.

2nd semester nursing student chosen by nursing faculty committee.

Muhlenberg County residents from Muhlenberg high schools or non-traditional adult students

Designated for Occupational Therapy Assistant program students

Criteria established and recipients chosen by Lions Club members

Pre-engineering, mining engineering, coal mining program students

Graduates of Webster County High School and Webster County residents

Education majors

Currently enrolled student, pursuing a degree and registered for at least six credit hours; must be enrolled in at least one honors course per term, committed to completing at least 18 hours of Honors courses by graduation, and maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.

NOTE: All scholarships from private donors are designated for Madisonville Community College students.
