Pathfinder Orientation

Welcome to MCC! The MCC-Muhlenberg Campus Pathfinder Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 9:00 am and 11:00 am. Pathfinder Orientation will allow you to meet new people, pick sessions, and explore the resources available at Madisonville Community College.

What's Next?

Pathfinder Orientation check-in will begin in the main lobby of the Muhlenberg Campus. We highly recommend starting with the Welcome session and then selecting additional sessions.

SESSIONS:

Welcome

Room 101 | 25-minute session

A welcome to campus from Dr. Cynthia S. Kelley, MCC President, Dr. Sid Hill, Provost, Dr. Mary Werner, Academic Dean, Patricia Lovett, Dean of Student Affairs, and Dr. Brittney Stevenson, Muhlenberg Campus Manager. Introduction of the day’s activities, and expectations at MCC-Muhlenberg Campus.

Financial Aid

Room 101 | 25-minute session

This session will offer you information on how your scholarships, grants, and loans help support your financial needs while attending school. The session will also answer any questions you may have about your financial aid.

Navigating Blackboard

Room 202 | 25-minute session

Blackboard is the online learning environment for your MCC classes. Come learn how to access assignments, view grades, communicate with your instructors, and much more!

The Learning Space

Room 110 | 10-15 minute session

Head over to The Learning Space and get help setting up your KCTCS user account. Learn how to access important applications such as MyPath, Email, BlackBoard, Student Self-Service, Microsoft Office, and more. This is also the place to find out more about getting help with your classes and tech issues. Free tutoring and success coaching are available for all MCC students.

TRIO/SSS

Room 108 | 10-15 minute session

For over 30 years, TRIO SSS students have excelled at MCC! Students who participate in SSS are more likely to have higher GPAs and are more likely to graduate and transfer because of the extra support services they receive. Stop by and find out more about our services, activities, and opportunities that you will have access to as a participant. Eligibility is based on Department of Education requirements and an application is required. Target population: first-generation college student OR income eligible OR documented disability.

Accessibility Services & Veteran Services

Student Center

The Accessibility Services Office coordinates services that ensure students with disabilities have equal access to all educational opportunities. MCC also works closely with veteran students to make sure they receive all benefits they are entitled to receive for their military service. 

Advising Help/Student ID

Stop by the Muhlenberg Campus front desk and get your picture taken for your photo ID. Please bring a government-issued photo ID. Need a copy of your class schedule or purchasing textbooks? Stop and get the answers!

Kynect

Student Center

Kynect is the state-based marketplace for health insurance in Kentucky. It offers Medicaid, KCHIP, premium assistance, qualified health plans, and more for individuals. Stop by to see if you qualify.

MCC Honors Program

Student Center

The MCC Honors Program allows our students the chance to shine! This program is open to students with a 3.0 GPA or above. Benefits include scholarship opportunities, individualized scholarly projects, extracurricular trips, and a close community of like-minded students and faculty-driven to help students excel!

Need A Job?

Student Center

The Federal Work-Study Program provides jobs for students with a financial need. Job opportunities are available on campus or community service in the public interest. The program offers competitive wages and flexibility around your school schedule.

Ready To Work

Student Center

The Ready to Work program is a collaboration between the Kentucky Community and Technical College (KCTCS) and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. The program helps students balance family, work, and school. It also offers work-study opportunities, advocacy, and mentorship.
