Open House Scheduled for Biomedical Technology Systems Program
Madisonville Community College is hosting a series of information events for the community to learn more about its Biomedical Technology Systems program. The first open house will be held on Thursday, March 27, from 5-7 p.m. in room 136 of the Brown Badgett, Sr. Energy amp; Advanced Technology Center located on MCC s North Campus (2000 College Drive, Madisonville). The Biomedical Technology Systems program is a great option for individuals wanting to work in the healthcare environment without direct patient contact. It is designed to train students how to repair and maintain a large variety of medical technologies and systems used in various sectors of healthcare including hospitals, clinics, ambulatory centers, and the home health sector. With the current expansion of healthcare services offered, there is a growing need for Biomedical Equipment Technicians. Projected occupational growth from 2010-2020 is much faster than average when compared to other occupations (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor). Upon program completion, the graduate will be prepared for immediate employment as an entry-level healthcare technology management professional and may pursue employment with a number of employers including, but not limited to, hospitals, clinics, home health equipment companies, third-party medical equipment service providers, and medical equipment manufacturers.
