MCC PBL CHAPTER EARNED TOP HONORS AT FBLA-PBL STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL), the largest and oldest student business organization, held its State Leadership Conference in Georgetown, KY on April 10-11. Participants from across Kentucky were in attendance for this exciting conference to sharpen their core business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 55 business and business-related competitive events.

Madisonville Community College (MCC) had 12 outstanding students compete at the state level. Clarissa Hill and Kim Simons, advisers, were so proud of the students that took the initiative to not only get involved, but to excel! MCC had 9 students that placed either 1st or 2nd place in their respective competitions. For many students, the competitive events are the capstone activity of their academic careers. In addition to the competitions, students immersed themselves in educational workshops, networked with students from across Kentucky, and bonded as an organizational group.

Organizational Behavior and Leadership (Individual Event) - Matt Graham
Strategic Analysis and Decision Making (Team Event) - Daniel Frankel, DeAnna Hall, and Ernest Roundtree
Computer Concepts (Individual Event) - Joe Lussier

2nd Place
Management Analysis and Decision Making (Team Event) - Justin Hawkins and Chris Rodgers

In addition, Katie Appleby competed in Management Concepts (Individual Event), Melissa Head competed in Business Communications (Individual Event) and Ross Givens competed in Computer Concepts (Individual Event). The winners qualify to attend the National FBLA-PBL Conference this summer in Nashville, TN.
