MCC ARCHERY CLUB PLACES IN NATIONAL COMPETITION

The Archery Club at Madisonville Community College had a strong showing in their inaugural competition at United States Collegiate Archery Indoor National South Regional Championships held at the Boyd County Convention Center and hosted by Kentucky Christian University.

Hunter Carlton placed 3rd winning the bronze medal in the compound male division. Kody Appleby finished 19th in the compound male division.

Chief Student Affairs Officer Dr. Jay Parrent commented, I am so excited for our students. Hunter placing third in the nation is an outstanding achievement for a first-time competitor on such a large stage. Kody did an outstanding job as well. Without his efforts, this team would not be on a part of student life on campus.

Some of the other colleges and universities competing included Campbellsville University, Liberty University, Hocking College, Eastern Kentucky University, California University of Pennsylvania, Union College, Midway University, and Ashland University.

This is the first year for the Archery Club at MCC and future competitions are planned. The next event, a field round, will be held on April 23-24 at Kentucky Christian University.
