LOCAL WRITERS, TIM WILLIAMS AND JUDE ROY, TO READ WORKS AT MCC LOMAN C. TROVER LIBRARY ON NOVEMBER 19

The Madisonville Community College (MCC) Loman C. Trover Library will be featuring Tim L. Williams on Thursday, November 19, for a reading of his works. Williams, of Muhlenberg County, is a former MCC student and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Murray State University. His stories have appeared in a variety of literary quarterlies, such as Lullwater Review and New Madrid, as well as genre magazines including Ellery Queen s Mystery Magazine, Plots with Guns, Not One of Us and the now sadly defunct Murdaland. Two of his stories have been included in Houghton Mifflin s Best American Mystery Stories series, for 2004 and 2012. He won a 2012 Thriller Award from the International Thriller Writers in the short story category and received a 2014 Edgar Award nomination for Where the Morning Sun Goes Down, which is included in Skull Fragments, his latest book. He has also been nominated twice for a Shamus Award for best short story.

Also appearing will be MCC English Professor Jude Roy. His stories have appeared in The Southern Review, American Short Fiction, National Public Radio's The Sound of Writing, The Fiction Writer, Mysteries and Manners Quarterly, Journal of Kentucky Studies, Mysterical-E, and many others. Originally from Chataignier, Louisiana, Roy has called Madisonville his home since 1998.

The event will take place on November 19, at 6 p.m. in the Loman C. Trover Library located on the 2nd floor of the Learning Resource Center on MCC s North Campus (2000 College Drive, Madisonville).

The event is free and open to the community. Refreshments will be available.
