LOCAL TRIO TALENT SEARCH STUDENTS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS

Madisonville Community College s TRIO Talent Search Program is proud to announce the award of scholarships from regional and state organizations to Matthew McCoy and Casey Boyd.

McCoy, a senior Talent Search participant at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School, was awarded the Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (SAEOPP) Survivor Scholarship in the amount of $500. He will be attending Madisonville Community College in the fall. SAEOPP is an eight-state southeast regional Association dedicated to the professional development and support of TRIO professionals and to the advocacy of the TRIO Movement.

MCC Talent Search Advisor Wes Ausenbaugh presented Matthew McCoy with the SAEOPP scholarship certificate during the MNHHS Awards Night program on May 21, 2015.

Boyd, a senior Talent Search participant at Hopkins County Central High School, was awarded a Kentucky Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (KAEOPP) Educational Talent Search Scholarship in the amount of $350. She will be attending the University of Kentucky this fall. KAEOPP is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged students of all ages.

MCC Talent Search Advisor Casey Johnson presented Casey Boyd with the KAEOPP scholarship certificate at the HCCHS Awards program on May 25, 2015.

TRIO Talent Search program at Madisonville Community College serves middle and high school students in Crittenden, Hopkins, and Muhlenberg counties. The Federal TRIO Programs are federal outreach and student service programs designed to identify eligible students for not only college enrollment but college graduation. Regular in-school group workshops, individual and small group sessions, and college campus tours are included in the program services.

Trio staff includes Anna Leasure, Corey Downey, Casey Johnson, Marcia Evans, and Wes Ausenbaugh. TRiO Talent Search is a federally funded program for middle and high school students located at Madisonville Community College.
