Fall 2013 Class Schedule set for Muhlenberg Campus

MCC FALL SCHEDULE SET FOR STUDENTS TO START REGISTRATION AT MUHLENBERG CAMPUS

Muhlenberg County area citizens can now take advantage of expanded higher education opportunities offered by Madisonville Community College (MCC) for the fall 2013 semester. According to Dr. Deborah Cox, MCC s Chief Academic Officer, The MCC fall schedule continues to offer Muhlenberg residents nearly 60 in-person courses at the Muhlenberg County Campus in Central City, but they also can benefit by a greatly expanded variety of MCC courses taught online in a variety of academic areas that takes accessibility and convenience to an entirely new level.

The fall schedule is available on the MCC s web site, https://madisonville.kctcs.edu. The schedule can be filtered to find all the in-person courses at the Muhlenberg County Campus or to view those taught on line.

George Humphreys, Muhlenberg County Campus Director, says, Muhlenberg area students are able to take their basic general education courses for a transfer associate degree or for one of the more than 20 career programs at Madisonville Community College. He adds, Madisonville Community College is among the leaders in the Kentucky Community and Technology College System in terms of the variety of programs that its students can choose from leading to high paying careers, and the number of these continues to grow.
Within recent years, MCC has added on-line programs in energy management, human services, and paralegal services, as well as new programs in healthcare technology management and paramedic technology.

The fall Muhlenberg County Campus schedule features several classes that prepare students for one of the college s programs or, upon successful completion of the class and industry examination, for employment. These include the NAA 100 - Skilled Nursing Assistant I and FRS 2061 - Emergency Medical Assistant.

Fall classes begin August 19, but new students should make plans to apply as soon as possible. Penny Jessup, Student Affairs Specialist at the Muhlenberg County Campus explains that students who start early can be sure that they have ample time to apply for financial aid programs, schedule for their required first semester experience orientation sessions, and arrange their schedules to suit their personal needs.
