ELDER AND WOODALL ELECTED TO KNA BOARD OF DIRECTORS POSITIONS

Madisonville Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce the election of Loretta Elder and Marsha Woodall to positions on the Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA) Board of Directors for two-year terms beginning October 2, 2015.

Elder, of Providence, is a Professor in the college s Integrated Nursing Program. She has been elected to the position of Clinical Practice Staff Nurse of the Professional and Nursing Practice and Advocacy Cabinet on the KNA Board. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN) degree from the University of Southern Indiana, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Murray State University, and completed for Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree from MCC. She is credentialed as a Certified Nurse Educator in addition to her Registered Nurse Licensure.

Woodall, of Madisonville, is a Professor and Nurse Administrator/ Program Coordinator in the college s Integrated Nursing Program. She has been elected to the Education Role of the Professional and Nursing Practice and Advocacy Cabinet on the KNA Board. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing Management and Leadership (MSN) degree from the University of Southern Indiana, a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration (MBA) degree from National University San Diego, CA, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Murray State University.

Elder and Woodall are currently pursuing Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Organizational Leadership (DNP) degrees from Eastern Kentucky University. Anticipated graduation date is May 2016.

The Kentucky Nurses Association, established in 1906, is the only full-service professional organization for the state's entire nurse population.
