Madisonville Community College (MCC) students Maye Stanley and Ernest Roundtree have been awarded Retha Tarter Lions Club Scholarships in the amount of $700 each.

Stanley is a Business Administration student with a 3.8 cumulative grade point average. She anticipates graduating in May 2015. In additional to being a student and working 20 hours per week in MCC s Learning Space, she volunteers at Life Point church, Hopkins County Central AFJROTC, MCC s Phi Beta Lambda, and serves as the Hopkins County Shooting Sports Coordinator, Archery Coach, Pistol Coach, and RSO.

Roundtree is also a Business Administration student with a Human Resources Management focus. He has a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and anticipates graduation in December 2015. He has participated in campus activities such as the MCC Poverty Simulation and in the MCC s College Tips video for Student Services. He also recently volunteered for the Hopkinsville Police Department s Community Outreach Football camp.

Since 2003, the MCC Lions Club has contributed $8,000 to the college s scholarship funds. This enables MCC to offer scholarships from private donations to more students.
