MCC OFFERS AREA STUDENTS A WIDE VARIETY OF CAREER PROGRAMS

When various media outlets tell Americans that college training is required in order to be hired in 21st century jobs, they often fail to say that the vast majority of those jobs may only require a two-year degree or less. For those jobs, Madisonville Community College (MCC) offers twenty-five degree programs training students for high wage careers in health care, first responder, business, and technical fields.

MCC President Dr. Judith L. Rhoads states, Madisonville Community College has been recognized the past two years as one of the nation s top ten percent community colleges in large part for the variety and quality of programs offered to our students. MCC is a leader in the state in this regard.

Students are currently enrolling for the fall semester that begins August 19, but there is still time to prepare for fall classes. Financial aid is available to those who qualify and students should apply now. The fall 2013 priority deadline for financial aid awards was July 1; students applying or completing the process after this date may encounter significant delays in processing. Students interested in attending Madisonville Community College should contact our office for assistance with FAFSA completion or other financial aid items, according to Martha Phelps, MCC Financial Aid Director. Students should remember that the FAFSA is a free application. Applicants should be wary of any financial aid forms or processes that require payment, added Phelps.
