MCC 50th Anniversary

Excitement is in the air at Madisonville Community College this year – the inauguration of the college’s 4th president, Dr. Cindy Kelley, was cause for celebration this fall. And now MCC is gearing up to celebrate an important milestone – their 50th Anniversary.

“What an exciting time at the college,” commented Dr. Kelley. “We have had such a long history of success and seeing our students achieve their dreams. This community supports the college like no other and I could not be more proud of all the work we have done and continue to do for the region,” she continued.

MCC’s history is also the history of a committed community with strong leadership who understands the importance of education – not just training for the workforce, but the education needed to build a literate and contributing civic society. The members of the Committee for a Madisonville Area Community College and so many other leaders, elected and otherwise advocated tirelessly for the creation of a local higher education institution that could provide the education and training needed to develop a strong workforce and to provide opportunity.
