Credit for Prior Learning
You have learned many things in your life why not earn college credit for this knowledge? At Madisonville Community College, we recognize that learning happens in a variety of places--not just in a college classroom. As a result, we have designed a process that allows you to earn college credit for the knowledge and skills you already possess. This process is called Credit for Prior Learning, and it can help you earn your degree in less time and with less expense.
Credit for Prior Learning provides a way to earn college credit for the skills you have learned on the job or through other experiences outside of the classroom. It could save you hundreds of dollars in tuition/book expenses, in addition to allowing you to complete a degree or certificate in less time. There are two options for prior learning assessments:
- Special Examinations for Credit:
- Written Test $20
- Practical Exam $40
- Portfolio Review for Assessment of College Credit: $75 (per 3 hour course)
Credit for Prior Learning is a great start to making your experience and skills more marketable when applying for jobs or advancing in your workplace.
