STILL TIME FOR MUHLENBERG STUDENTS TO REGISTER FOR SPRING '15 CLASSES AT MCC

With Spring 2015 classes starting the week of January 12 and holiday break fast approaching, there is limited time for new and returning students to get ready for classes at the Muhlenberg County Campus of Madisonville Community College. The Muhlenberg County Campus features approximately 40 in-person class offerings. In addition, there are many classes and several degree programs, such as energy management, health care informatics, human services, and paralegal technology that are online for students whose life schedule makes in-person classes difficult.

Slots are still open, on the Muhlenberg County Campus, in courses that prepare students for entry-level positions in the nursing and emergency medical technician fields. There NAA 100, Skilled Nurse Assistant I, courses is offered on a day and evening schedule This course, required for students interested in going on further into nursing, prepares students for the state test to work as a certified nursing assistant in a hospital or long term care setting. In addition, the EMT (FRS 2061) class is offered Tuesday and Thursday evening. This six-credit hour class also prepares students for the state EMT test and is required for students interested in the college s paramedical program. Community college remains the most affordable college option. MCC in-state tuition is currently $151 per credit hour and over 80% of MCC students receive some form of financial aid. A financial aid representative is available at the Muhlenberg County Campus each Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. No appointment is necessary. Muhlenberg County students, over 25 years of age, who have some college but have been out of school for some time are also encouraged to ask about the Martin Scholars program funded by the Felix E. Martin, Jr. Foundation.

To register, students may either contact their advisor, visit the Muhlenberg County Campus, or the Enrollment Center located at MCC s North Camus. Madisonville Community College will be closed December 22, 2014-January 2, 2015, and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2015.
