Taylor Fields Named MCC Student of the Month

Madisonville Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce the selection of Taylor Fields as the Student of the Month for September. Fields was nominated by Mining Program Coordinator Bart Allen and Chemistry Professor Dr. John Lowbridge. She completed coursework in May 2016 for an Associate in Applied Science degree in Mining Technology. She is currently enrolled in courses for transfer to the University of Kentucky College of Engineering, where she has been accepted for the Fall 2017 semester. In addition to earning multiple certifications from the Division of Mine Safety and MCC through the Mining Technology program, she helped to start a new student organization this semester, serves as a teaching assistant in Dr. Lowbridge s online chemistry course, is a tutor for the Junior Kentucky Coal Academy, and is a chemistry tutor in MCC s The Learning Space.

Fields, of Bowling Green, was presented with a certificate and a Barnes amp; Noble $50 gift card.
