SUPER SUNDAY HALL OF FAME ALUMNI HONORED - COLLEGE FAIR TO BE HELD SUNDAY, MARCH 1

Madisonville Community College is proud to honor Kim Morrow as the newest member of the Super Sunday Hall of Fame.

Super Sunday is an annual Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) statewide initiative intended to increase the college-going rate of students of color. As part of this initiative, a Super Sunday Hall of Fame has been established, highlighting outstanding African-American alumni.
Kim, a native of Madisonville, Kentucky, serves as the Student Affairs Assistant in the Enrollment Center at Madisonville Community College. In addition, she is the 2014-2015 President of the MCC Lions Club and an alumnus of MCC.

Kim left home at the tender age of 18 to attend an out-of-town college. Her motives and mindset were underprepared for what she was going to face and she soon realized that she needed to return home. This decision landed her at Madisonville Community College where she successfully finished an Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration degree in May 2011. While attending MCC, she had the opportunity to serve in various leadership capacities and represent the college at community events. She is currently completing coursework for a Bachelor s degree in Business Integrated Studies from Murray State University and anticipates graduating in May 2015. She plans to pursue a Master s Degree program beginning in the fall 2015 semester.

Kim surrendered her life to Jesus Christ at an early age at Wesley Chapel CME church and has devoted her services to being the Director of Children and Youth, President of the Usher Board, and various other areas in the church.

She is the proud parent of two sons, Donae Morrow, also an alumnus of MCC (August 2011) and a Western Kentucky University graduate (May 2014), and Cameron Tandy, a former MCC student who transferred to West Virginia University for the spring 2015 semester.

Now her life has taken an even bigger turn for the best. She is thankful to Madisonville Community College for the opportunity to further her education and to serve her community.

On Sunday, March 1, MCC will partner with churches in Hopkins, Muhlenberg, and Webster counties to host information fairs for prospective college students and their families. Madisonville Community College will sponsor Super Sunday College Fairs beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, at the following locations:

First Missionary Baptist Church, 209 Oak Street, Greenville
Marable Temple Church of God in Christ, 139 State Street, Providence
Wesley Chapel CME, 171 North Kentucky Avenue, Madisonville

MCC President Dr. Judith L. Rhoads shared that The Super Sunday College Fair will be an excellent opportunity for students to learn that college is affordable and accessible at MCC. We offer a number of outstanding academic programs that will prepare students for careers of the next century. We look forward to a big crowd at each location and will have admissions and financial aid staff available to help in any way possible.

For most Kentuckians, higher education begins at one of the state s 16 community and technical colleges. It is a vital part of the KCTCS mission to ensure the state s diverse populations receive every opportunity to obtain a college education.
