NEW SGA LEADERSHIP AT MCC ANNOUNCED

Aaron Richardson and Kaitlyn Martin has been elected to leadership positions in the Student Government Association (SGA) for the 2016-2017 academic year at Madisonville Community College (MCC).

Richardson, a Business Administration student from Madisonville, will be serving as the SGA President. He has proven leadership experience, previously serving as Vice President of College Relations for Phi Beta Lambda and as President of the TRiO Student Support Services Student Advisory Board. One of Richardson s goals is to increase student involvement in activities and to make a difference on the college campus.

Martin, an Associate in Arts major from Dawson Springs, will serve as the SGA Vice President. She has been involved in Glema Mahr Center for the Arts performances since 2008 and is a member of the MCC Singers. She volunteers at the Evansville Rescue Mission and works at CVS Pharmacy. Martin is interested in community service projects and sustainability. She wants to help students be the change in their community they desire to be.

MCC s SGA organization is an important aspect of our student life programming on campus. I know that Aaron and Kaitlyn will provide outstanding leadership during this academic year, shared Chief Student Affairs Officer Dr. Jay Parrent.

The mission of MCC's Student Government Association is to further development of the ideas, character, and knowledge of the college and its students; to insure a maximum of self-government based upon mutual respect of the students, administration, faculty, and staff; and to promote student activities.
