MCC PARTNERS WITH EVERBLUE FOR ENERGY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Madisonville Community College (MCC) has partnered with Everblue to offer students completing Everblue training courses academic credit towards an Associate of Applied Science degree option in MCC s Energy Management Program. Everblue is one of the nation s premier training providers for sustainability and a continuing education division of the International Academy of Design amp; Technology-Chicago. It specializes in green jobs and sustainable development training and offers non-credit, short-term courses approved by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, American Institute of Architects, Building Performance Institute, Green Building Certification Institute, and North American Technician Excellence.

I am very excited about the opportunities that the Energy Management program brings to our students. I believe that the partnership with Everblue will allow our program to be more flexible and allow more non-traditional students the opportunity to complete their degree, stated Jake Hildebrant, Coordinator of MCC s Energy Management program.

MCC s Energy Management program was created to offer students a cutting edge, flexible program that leads to a sustainable job in a growing industry. The program is 100% online and is a textbook zero program. Students purchase an iPad, or an approved Apple product, instead of textbooks. Five national certificates are embedded within the courses so students graduate with industry recognized credentials. The certificates are the NABCEP Entry Level Solar PV, LEED Green Associate, BPI Building Science Fundamentals, EPA 608 a, and the CEWD Energy Industries Fundamentals certificates. Chief Academic Affairs Officer Dr. Deborah Cox shared, We are very pleased to be in partnership with Everblue in this training. Since the program is embedded with so many industry standard certificates, the end result becomes much more than a degree.

All of the core classes are offered on a bi-term schedule for non-traditional students, and the Associate in Applied Science degree in Energy Management is transferable to 100% online Bachelor of Science programs at Western Kentucky University (Technology Management amp; Systems Management), Morehead State University (Technology Management), and Murray State University (Bachelor of Integrated Studies).
