MCC Hosting Mock Presidential Debate for Constitution Day 2016 Observance

In observance of Constitution Day, Madisonville Community College (MCC) will be hosting a Mock Presidential Debate on Thursday, September 15, beginning at 12:20 p.m. in room C90 of the John H. Gray Building located on the college s North Campus at 2000 College Drive in Madisonville.

MCC Sociology/History Professor Joe Gooch will be portraying the Republican candidate and Patricia Young, MCC Professor/HRSA Grant Project Director, will be portraying the Democratic candidate. The mock debate will be moderated by MCC Assistant Professor of History Dr. Robin West. The event is anticipated to be informative, highly charged at times, and possibly entertaining. Voter registration forms and information will be available.

Constitution Day is a federal observance of the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is normally observed on September 17, the day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia.

The event is free and open to the community.
