MCC ANNOUNCES THIS YEAR'S OUTSTANDING STUDENT AND FACULTY MEMBER
Madisonville Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce Trent Hill as the recipient of MCC s 2014-2015 Outstanding Student Award and Stephanie Taylor as the 2015 Outstanding Faculty Member.Trent Hill, of Slaughters, received an Associate in Applied Science degree in Computer Information Technology during the college s May 8th graduation ceremony. His academic achievement placed his name on the Dean s List for several semesters and he was recognized as an MCC Student of the Month. Additionally, he was involved in the Student Support Services program and was the recipient of a Lavender Fund scholarship to support his academic work.
Students nominated for the Outstanding Student Award submit an application describing their involvement on campus, academic honors, and community activities. These applications are reviewed by faculty council and the top two finalists are voted on by faculty.
Stephanie Taylor, of Madisonville, was selected by MCC students as this year s Outstanding Faculty Member. During the award presentation, it was noted that Taylor has instilled in students a thirst for knowledge and has inspired them through words and actions to reach their professional goals. She is known to students as someone who not only sets high expectations for learning, but also helps them to achieve more than they themselves envisioned. Taylor is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of MCC s Physical Therapist Assistant program.
