MCC ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM RECEIVES DONATION FROM FIFTH THIRD BANK
Madisonville Community College is pleased to announce a $2,500 donation from Fifth Third Bank for students in the college s adult education program. The donation is yet another testament of community support for education, noted Cris Crowley, Director of Adult Education ACE2 at MCC. Adult education students are not eligible for any type of financial aid, scholarships or grants to attend class. Our students are pursuing their GED and/or brushing up on their skills to enter college or the workforce. With drastically dwindling budget allocations from both the federal and state governments, this donation will help students complete the first step in their educational pathway to higher education and employment. The ACE2 students and staff truly appreciate this donation from Fifth Third Bank.
John Raisor, Assistant Vice President/Community and Economic Development, shared, Fifth Third has broken down our 2015 charitable giving focus areas into 4 pillars, one of which is Education, specifically workforce development and adult education programs. This initiative is taken directly from meeting with our business customers and listening to their concerns that more emphasis is needed in training and educating tomorrow s workforce. MCC has the programming that we believe is vital to the success of our region and we are very happy to provide support.
