Kentucky Author Eddie Price featured at the Loman C. Trover Library Reading Series

MCC LOMAN C. TROVER LIBRARY READING SERIES TO FEATURE KENTUCKY AUTHOR EDDIE PRICE

Madisonville Community College s Loman C. Trover Library Reading Series will feature an evening of reading and conversation with Kentucky author Eddie Price. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Loman C. Trover Library located in the Learning Resource Center on MCC s North Campus at 2000 College, Madisonville. The presentation is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served.

Eddie Price, the author of Widder s Landing, is a lifelong native of Kentucky. A graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College (BA) and Western Kentucky University (MA and Rank I), Eddie taught history for 36 years (31 years at Hancock county High School and 21 years part-time at Owensboro Community amp; Technical College). He has received numerous awards including Ashland Oil s The Golden Apple Teaching Award, the Kentucky Association for Teachers of History s Outstanding American History Teacher Award, the Murray State University s Outstanding High School Teacher Kentucky in 2000, and the Excellence in Teaching Award from Campbellsville University in 2012. He was recently awarded the 2013 Spirit of 1812 award by the Michigan State Society of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812. He is active in the Hancock Historical Society and organized the Young Historians Club. He has two daughters and resides in Hancock County, Kentucky.

Also appearing with excerpts from Kentucky writer H. Caudill will be Chandy Melton reading from the novel, Dark Hills to Westward: The Saga of Jenny Wiley. Chandy is a member of the Humanities Department at Madisonville Community College. She received both her BA and MA from Murray State University.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the Loman C. Trover Library to hear and meet with Eddie Price. Books will be available for purchase and will be signed by the author.
