JUDITH K. MOORE BOARDROOM NAMING ANNOUNCED

On August 10, Madisonville Community College (MCC) was pleased to host a gathering of friends and family of the late Judith K. Moore for the occasion of acknowledging a generous contribution to the college s BuildSmart Investment in Kentucky Competitiveness campaign in her memory. The naming of the Judith K. Moore Boardroom was announced by MCC President Dr. Judy Rhoads as she recalled Moore s passion for education. The newly named boardroom is located on the 2nd floor of the John H. Gray Building in the Business Synergy Lab.

Moore was a secretarial/business program faculty member at MCC from 1979-2011. During her time at MCC, she was involved in various college and community activities including the implementation of the School Counts! work ethic scholarship program for students in Hopkins and Muhlenberg counties and the establishment of the Leadership Hopkins County program. She was a member of the Hopkins County Fair Board, the Madisonville-Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce, the Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission, and the Cardinal Garden Club.

The BuildSmart campaign is a grassroots fundraising effort for the construction of the Madisonville Regional Postsecondary Education Center on MCC s North Campus. In partnership with Murray State University, the facility will provide an array of educational opportunities for local economic development competitiveness of the county, region, and state.
