DAVENPORT SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Madisonville Community College is pleased to announce the selection of Dustin Perry and Steven Survant as recipients of $1,000 scholarships from the Dr. Lea Ann Davenport Memorial Endowment for the 2015-2016 academic year. Both students were selected based on their exemplary academic work.

Perry of Marion is currently completing coursework towards an Associate in Science degree and anticipates graduating in spring 2016. He plans to transfer to Western Kentucky University to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.

Survant of Princeton plans to complete his Associate in Applied Science degree as an Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner and then transfer to Boise State University to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in respiratory care.

The Dr. Lea Ann Davenport Memorial Endowment was made possible through a planned insurance arrangement that her parents, Ann and Bill Davenport, completed while their daughter was in college. Dr. Davenport died on April 17, 2013. The endowment provides scholarship awards to students majoring in the math/sciences areas and also provides for faculty professional development funding.
