MCC Offers Computer Aided Design Course at Muhlenberg County Campus
Introduction to Computer-Aided Design (CAD 100) will be offered at Madisonville Community College s Muhlenberg County Campus during the fall 2011 semester. CAD 100 will be taught Tuesday (6:00-8:45 p.m.), with the required lab held Thursday (7:00-8:45 p.m.).
Dr. Deborah Cox, MCC Chief Academic Affairs Officer, is excited about this addition to the Muhlenberg Campus. Knowledge of CAD is useful in so many situations in the private sector. Depending on student interest, I hope to see this grow into a certificate program at the Muhlenberg Campus.
CAD 100 students will gain the essential skills and knowledge to start working toward a career that supports engineering design. This is an excellent opportunity to explore exciting new developments in engineering design and drafting using the latest software and techniques. The course will consist of geometric construction, developing orthographic views, multiview drawings, basic dimensioning and creating assembly drawings.
MCC fall classes start August 15. Students interested in taking this class should
contact Penny Jessup, student affairs specialist at the Muhlenberg County Campus,
at 757-9881. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. The last day to register
for fall classes is August 10.
