Appeals Process

Students who are disqualified from the School Counts! program may appeal for reinstatement by following the appeals process below.

Date	Event
By Friday, June 21, 2013	High school counselors should identify the School Counts! participants that have been disqualified from the program due to not meeting one or more of the four qualifications. Disqualification list should include current mailing addresses. Notification letters will be prepared and mailed to disqualified participants by the MCC President’s Office prior to Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Letter will include instructions on the appeal process and information on attending the Appeals Hearing.
By Friday, July 12, 2013	The parent/guardian should send a letter requesting an appeal to the President’s Office.
By Wednesday, July 17, 2013	High school principals/counselors will be notified of their appeals and requested to provide documentation. An Appeals Hearing schedule will be provided.
By Wednesday, July 17, 2013	The Appeals Committee will be notified of the Appeals Hearing. The Appeal Committee will consist of: Community Representative President – Madisonville Community College Principal – Dawson Springs High School Principal – Hopkins County Central High School Principal – Madisonville North Hopkins High School The Appeals Committee will meet on Thursday, July 25, 2013, beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Brown Badgett, Sr. Energy & Advanced Technology Center on the MCC North Campus.
By Wednesday, July 17, 2013	Students/parents will be called to remind them of the Appeal Hearing and given their scheduled time.
By Tuesday, July 23, 2013	Students/parents will be called and/or emailed to remind them of the Appeal Hearing and their scheduled time.
By Friday, August 2, 2013	Students/parents will be notified of the appeal decision.
